Amy Emerson is a member of the Firm's Litigation, Employment Law, and Business Services Practice Groups. Amy represents clients in civil litigation matters before federal and state trial and appellate courts, and before administrative agencies. Her cases cover a range of complex commercial litigation matters, including real estate, construction, environmental, and contract disputes, business and general torts, and collection matters.

Representative Experience
- Won summary judgment dismissal of $45,000,000 negligence claim in federal court; on appeal to the Fifth Circuit, obtained decision upholding dismissal
- Won a directed verdict for defendant in state court nuisance suit where plaintiff claimed $5,000,000 in damages
- Successfully defended water district in suit seeking to enjoin a significant public works project
- Collected $120,000 default judgment by garnishing out-of-state technology company's PayPal account
- Represented municipalities in Fair Housing Act litigation, including successful defense of federal suit at trial and on appeal to the Fifth Circuit
- Obtained dismissal of federal fraud suit against nationally recognized corporation on jurisdictional basis; assisted client in filing alternative suit in Delaware to gain strategic advantage as plaintiff in dispute
- Represented municipality in defending a constitutional challenge to preferential purchasing resolution. Obtained dismissal of majority of plaintiff's claims leading to resolution of remaining issues by favorable settlement
- Represented private and governmental entities in complex construction disputes
- Assisted in obtaining a defense verdict in the jury trial of a wrongful termination case
- Obtained numerous favorable decisions from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for employers on charges of discrimination
