Our Water Practice Group attorneys regularly represent clients before the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Texas Water Development Board, Texas Railroad Commission, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and state and federal courts.
Water Practice Group attorneys are well-versed in the unique needs of political subdivisions. Clients include municipalities, river authorities, municipally-owned utilities, groundwater conservation districts, municipal utility districts and other special law districts, and water supply corporations. The Group also represents individuals and private corporations engaged in regulated activities.
The Water Practice Group works proactively to represent client interests in all governmental forums and throughout the legislative process. To accomplish this, our attorneys:
- Maintain frequent contact with state officials involved in water matters
- Participate in legislative and regulatory water policy work groups
- Testify before legislative committees
- Monitor emerging policy issues, rules, and regulations
- Apprise clients of changes that could affect them
- Routinely serve on agency ad hoc committees charged with developing and evaluating agency rulemaking and policy-making efforts
