Government Relations

Lloyd Gosselink’s government relations team assists clients with the Texas Legislature and legislative process, as well as with other state elected officials and governmental entities. 

Our Firm represents a number of trade associations, cities, counties, special districts, private corporations, and others in this capacity, working extensively and directly with legislators and state agency officials to promote and protect our clients’ interests.  This area of practice includes:

• Tracking and analysis of legislation
• Drafting of bills and amendments to bills
• Preparation of testimony before legislative committees
• Meetings with legislators and other elected officials
• Working with officials and staff of state and federal agencies concerning the proper implementation of legislative and congressional enactments
• Monitoring activities of interim legislative committees whose actions could affect our clients
• Directing communications with legislators on behalf of clients
