Chris Phillips is a principal attorney with the Firm and head of the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group. He has practiced before state and federal trial and appellate courts for over thirty years and is also an experienced arbitrator and mediator. Currently, Chris practices commercial litigation and regularly serves as an arbitrator and mediator in commercial and construction disputes. A member of the State Bar of Texas, Chris is admitted to practice before the U. S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas. As an experienced provider of alternative dispute resolution services, he is a panelist for the American Arbitration Association (Commercial and Construction panels), and a member of the Association of Attorney-Mediators (President-Elect, Central Texas Branch). He is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and served on the Board of the Central Texas Legal Aid and Defender Society (President, 1986-87). He also serves as a Trustee and the Chancellor of St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin. An honors graduate from Harvard University, Chris received his law degree in 1973 from The University of Texas School of Law, with honors, where he was an Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review, named a Chancellor, and awarded the Order of the Coif.
