Michelle Maddox Smith practices in the areas of environmental, water and administrative law. She is a member of the firm's Water Practice Group and assists clients with various permitting and enforcement issues related to water supply, water quality, storm water and wetlands matters. She co-authors the chapter on “Agency Structure” in the Environmental Law Handbook for West’s Texas Practice Series. Michelle is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Sections on Environmental and Natural Resources Law, and Administrative and Public Law), the Austin Bar Association, the Austin Young Lawyers Association, and the Water Environment Association of Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 2003, where she served as an editor of the Texas Environmental Law Journal and participated in clerkships for the United States Department of Justice and the Lower Colorado River Authority. In 2000, Michelle received a B.A. with high honors in environmental studies and communications from Baylor University.
