Lauren Kalisek is a principal in the Firm's Districts Practice Group and Water Practice Group. Her primary focus is in the areas of water quality and water utilities, including wastewater permitting and related regulatory programs, along with the organization and operation of water districts and water supply corporations. She is a frequent speaker before a variety of organizations on water utility issues, including the International Texas Water Law Conference, the Texas Water Conservation Association, the Texas Mining and Reclamation Association, the American Waterworks Association, and the Association of Water Board Directors. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Sections on Environmental and Natural Resources Law, Administrative and Public Law), and the Austin Bar Association. She also serves as associate editor of the Texas Environmental Law Journal, and she is a contributing author to West's Texas Practice Series, Environmental Law. Lauren is a native of Houston and earned her bachelor's degree with honors from The University of Texas at Austin. She earned her juris doctorate degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
