Lambeth Townsend has a practice encompassing all aspects of electric, water, and gas utility law, municipal solid waste regulation, water law, and litigation. Lambeth leads the Firm’s Utility Practice Group and is a member of the Litigation Group. Lambeth is Board Certified in Administrative Law, Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and throughout his career has represented clients in State and Federal courts and administrative tribunals. He is an author and frequent speaker on subjects relating to utility law and regulation. Prior to joining Lloyd Gosselink, he was General Counsel for the Public Utility Commission of Texas, 1987 - 89, and Assistant Attorney General, Texas, 1977 - 84. Lambeth is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas, having served on its Administrative Law Committee. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals (Fifth Circuit and D.C. Circuit), and the U.S. District Court (Western District of Texas, Eastern District of Texas, and Northern District of Texas). Lambeth was born and raised in Paris, Texas. He received a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1970 and a J.D. from St. Mary’s University in 1974.
