Michelle Smith practices in the areas of environmental, water and administrative law.  She is a member of the firm's Water Practice Group and assists clients with various permitting, compliance and enforcement issues related to water supply, water quality, storm water and wetlands matters.  Michelle was born in Seguin, Texas, received her undergraduate degree from Baylor University and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law.

Representative Experience

  • Following several years of clerkships with the firm, Michelle has been practicing law at Lloyd Gosselink since she became a licensed attorney.
  • She has experience representing political subdivisions before the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Environmental Protection Agency regarding water supply and water quality permitting, enforcement actions and stakeholder work groups.
  • During law school at the University of Texas, Michelle served as the Recent Developments Editor of the Texas Environmental Law Journal and participated in clerkships for the United States Department of Justice in the Environmental Enforcement Section and the Lower Colorado River Authority.
  • As an undergraduate at Baylor University, Michelle received the national Morris K. Udall Scholarship for students pursuing careers in environmental policy.
